Why Choose Boise Healing Massage for Deep Tissue Therapy

Every body that walks through my door is different. That is the whole point.

I have spent over eight years as a licensed massage therapist in Boise, learning what works: in high-end spas, in clinical rehab settings, and now in my own practice on the Boise Bench. What I took from all of it is that no two massage therapy sessions should look the same. Your shoulders might need deep, focused pressure while your lower back just needs to be left alone today. I read what your body is telling me and adjust as I go.

I am not a chain. There is no front desk, no upsell, no rotating staff. When you book with Boise Healing Massage, you get me. I know your history, I remember what worked last time, and I pick up where we left off.

Most of my clients are active people: runners, hikers, cyclists, desk workers carrying years of tension. They come in for therapeutic massage in Boise because something hurts or because they want to stay ahead of it. Either way, the goal is the same: move better, feel better, and get back to doing what you love.

Your First Massage Appointment in Boise

Your first appointment starts with a short conversation. I will ask about your trouble spots, your goals, and anything I should know about your health. No paperwork avalanche. Just a few minutes so I can plan your session around what you actually need.

My studio on the Boise Bench is quiet, clean, and private. I check in on pressure throughout the session because “deep tissue” means something different to every person.

Afterward, I will give you honest feedback on what I found and whether a follow-up makes sense. No pressure to rebook. If you felt a difference, you will know. Most new clients tell me they wish they had come in sooner. Book your first session online whenever you are ready.

I worked as a massage therapist for years and I feel that I may be a bit of a “massage snob”, in a good way, and the body work I received from Laura is absolutely amazing!! She’s kind, very intuitive, and extremely professional!!!

I have been going to Laura for a couple years and she has helped me tremendously with my lower back and neck issues. I like the fact that she always asks me what I want to focus on. She is not only sweet but amazing at what she does. I refuse to go to anyone else! Highly recommend 🙂

Massage Therapy in Boise: Common Questions

How often should I get a massage?

It depends on what you are dealing with. If you have chronic pain or tightness, every two to three weeks is a good starting point. For general maintenance and stress relief, once a month works well for most people. I can help you figure out a schedule that fits your body and your budget after your first session. Check out my monthly massage memberships for discounted rates on regular visits.

What is the difference between relaxation massage and deep tissue massage?

Relaxation massage uses long, flowing strokes at lighter pressure. The goal is to calm the nervous system and reduce stress. Deep tissue massage targets specific muscle layers with firmer, slower pressure to break up knots and adhesions. Most of my sessions blend both depending on what each area of your body needs that day. You can read more about each option on my massage services page.

Do I need to undress completely for a massage?

You undress to whatever level you are comfortable with. You are always covered with a sheet, and I only uncover the area I am actively working on. Many clients keep underwear on. There is no right or wrong answer here.

How should I prepare for my first massage appointment in Boise?

Drink water, eat a light meal an hour or two before, and show up a few minutes early so you are not rushing. My studio is located at 4477 W Emerald Street, Suite A200, on the Boise Bench. Wear whatever is comfortable. That is really all there is to it. You can book your first appointment online anytime.

Does massage therapy help with chronic back pain?

Yes. Therapeutic massage can reduce muscle tension, improve circulation, and increase range of motion in the areas contributing to back pain. I work with a lot of clients in Boise who deal with chronic lower back and neck tightness from desk work, driving, or active lifestyles. It is not a one-visit fix, but most people notice real improvement within a few sessions. Learn more about my approach to customized therapeutic bodywork.
